It is still too early to give an accurate verdict concerning performance of Windows 10 as the operating system does not have many days that has reached the consumers.
But one thing is known; compared with Windows 8, Windows 10 has led to significant improvements in gaming graphics performance since it is the first Microsoft operating system that features DirectX 12. As regards other aspects of performance, improvements are slim.
During a test to compare Windows 8 with Windows 10 are using two identical computers; HP Spectre x360 with all the same specifications, except of course the operating system. In one of the building installed 10240 laptops Windows 10 and the other Windows 8.1 Home. On the laptop they were applied different tasks and tests to highlight differences between the two operating systems. The tests that were applied were PC Mark, which simulates different loads and Creative Conventional applications which tests the browser, modifying photos and videos, games etc. What was expected was a dramatic change, but the result was very close.
It looks as seen in the graph, the performance of the two operating systems is almost identical. Results between Windows 8 and Windows 10 were very close to each other. Therefore, not worth it to fill this article with numerous graphics whose outcome will be the same. But if you want to have more information, take a look at the following table.
What about games?
In this respect we can say that Windows 10 has more advantages. The element that gives this advantage is of course the presence of Windows 10 and DirectX 12. However, and here the difference is not very large. To arrive at this result, the laptop was set Tomb Raider game.
This is not the final result!
A large part of the components not yet been tested. Other improvements have arrived and the battery life or system files. Up to this point we can say that Windows 10 does not offer any major changes compared with Windows 8. But that does not mean that we should be disappointed by Windows 10. This means that the latest operating systems Microsoft did not have much room for improvements as each version has high-level components.
